INSIDE TOUR AS CREATIVE HEAD
Experience does teach you better than lessons taught in schools. While concepts and theories help as background knowledge, it is still different when you’re no longer in a classroom but executing the skills you’ve honed in the field. Technically, these projects I’m about to discuss are part of an academic requirement. However, our professor treated us as if we were working in the industry already. Sort of like a simulation of a near future.
Before diving into the programs, I’d like to share a piece of information regarding the role handed to me. When applying for a certain position, I thought of choosing something higher than the skills I think I already have. Not a good tip but I was (a big word coming through—) confident. Besides, I figured that it might also be time that I try for roles outside of what I normally do and learn from the experience. Plus, I had my friends cheering for me so it felt good.
As a creative head, my task is to lead the Creative Department. Our department works with the two programs in our class, providing them with the spiels, graphics, production design, and videos needed to form their every episode. Back-to-back meetings, squeezing the idea bank out, meeting tight deadlines, and swallowing strict feedback, my team endured it all. The process is rigorous but our class would agree that it’s one of the best experiences we ever had.
Her Diaries

It is a 10-minute reality talk show that aims to inform, inspire, influence, and empower young women. It discusses transformative content that strengthens the self-esteem, career aspirations, and positive body image of young women.
STORYTIME!
Before the production of these programs, the prerequisite of this subject required us to conduct audience research fitting for the type of media network we built. Our team founded “Paraluman Media Network” which focuses on establishing a safe and empowering space for young adult women. Breaking stigma, lifting dreams, and a platform for unheard voices, PMN’s audience research is among the best audience research last A.Y. 2020-2021. It led to the development of a program based on the research, giving birth to Her Diaries. I may not be among the production team behind HD, but I surely am a part of its founding.
The Adventures of Awwra

Family-friendly children show that encourages teamwork and effective communication between the parent and the child. The host of the show, Awwra, takes the tandem toward a series of places until learning the lesson of the day.
STORYTIME!
This is a challenging program to execute amid a pandemic. I remember our team wondering how we could produce such and much graphics for the program but then in awe of realizing we made it happen. We went through countless revisions to achieve a look that will catch the attention of children. It was tough but I believe our team’s graphic designer and video editor are as proud of their hard work.
I will be fooling myself if I said that being a creative head is all bliss. Above the outputs we created in this project, the lessons of being a leader were instilled in me. I realized that there is, indeed, so much more than distributing tasks to your members. It also includes being a listener, active observer, and proactive chief that cares both about the material and the people behind it who gives their best in doing their job. Pandemic had it all on us, and sometimes, it is difficult to find yourself between house and university however the other only involves cooperating through a screen. Leaders must also be compassionate even with themself.
By the end of the semester, our professor announced that Her Diaries and The Adventures of Awwra were the Best Program and the 2nd Best Program of the Year, respectively.
