I Pretended I’m Not Home

I tried to write something cheesy for today’s #NaPoWriMo entry, and huh, I hope it’s not as cringe-y as I feel right now. 🤣 How are you? It’s raining nonstop here today. Hope you’re all safe. 🌼

Oh, and this is, I think, my first try at writing a list poem. I’ll definitely practice more! Prompts used:

I Pretended I’m Not Home

I always wonder if I’m happy

Is it enough that I’m alone

Or music stays the best company

Perhaps, it’s better if someone else comes home

Grandma says to look for a clean man

In his clothes, intentions, presenting himself

Words out of his mouth are deeply thought, a fan

Uplifting my confidence reaching the top shelf

I like it the most when you make me realize

To make mistakes is a must, I’m doing enough

Can’t help myself, this poem couldn’t summarize

I have a crush on you, oof, that’s tough

I pretended I’m not home when you knocked on the door

It’s not because I think you’re too good to be true

Rather I’m not ready to commit to more

My house is cozy now; someday, let’s paint this blue
